It is no longer news  that tecno is one of the first set of mobile manufacturers to dish out cool and affordable Android phones in the Nigeria mobile market. As time goes on, new brands begin to find their way into Nigeria and today we have so many brands. When Gionee came on board, people never really attach much importance to the phone due to the fact that tecno has already dominated the market. Some people even see Gionee as one of those "chinko" phones that have no any reasonable features. But the reality is that Tecno phones by all standards cannot be compared with Gionee smartphones. In my own opinion, Gionee phones are way better than Tecno phones and if you doubt me then let's look at the following;

GIONEE PHONES HAVE WORLDWIDE RECOGNITION

Gionee Mobile  is a brand with worldwide recognition, which is why you see a website like GSM Arena featuring Gionee phones in their website and till date no any Tecno phone has ever been featured on GSM Arena.

 CLEAN USER INTERFACE (UI)

You really can't talk about affordable Android Smart Phones with clean UI without mentioning Gionee. They have one of the cleanest UI around. This is not the same with Tecno which uses the stock android OS the way it is with just a little or no modification.

MASSIVE ONLINE SUPPORT

There is a large community of Gionee users online and finding support is pretty easier. This is because there are users of Gionee phones almost everywhere in the world, and that is why there are so many discussions online about Gionee phones where users provide solutions to simple problems that one may encounter. The situation is not the same with Tecno. A simple google query for a solution about any Tecno problem can hardly bring out any result beyond Nigeria. This simply means that you are not likely to get what you are looking for, because there is not enough information about what you are looking for on the Internet due to limited number of users which are only based in Africa.

CUSTOM ROMS

There is a wide variety of custom ROMs for Gionee phones compare to Tecno. According to Gionee as written on their website, Gionee as a mobile manufacturing company has achieved an overall market share of 7.2% and GSM Market share of 11.2% in 2011. This has put the company in the third place of the overall cellular market.Since Gionee’s market share have greatly improved over the years, more and more custom ROMs are being developed by users all over the world, thus, there is a wide variety of custom ROMs compare to tecno whose dominance is only in Africa.
